  This memorial website was created in the memory of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Wife, Edna  Ruth Umfleet who was born in Missouri on February 03, 1935 and passed away on December 23, 2006 at the age of 71. We will remember her forever.

Edna Ruth Umfleet, 71, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away Saturday, December 23, 2006 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She was born February 3, 1935 in Flat River, Missouri to Roy J. and Henratta J. Turnbough Huey. Mrs. Umfleet retired from J.C. Penny after 19 years and was a strong supportive military wife of 56 years. She was preceded in death by her father and baby daughter, Dee Ann Umfleet.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ret. MSgt. Denver Umfleet; children, Deborah McDaniel of Jacksonville, Ret. MSgt Dennis L. Umfleet of Virginia, Ret. SSgt Norman D. Umfleet of Tennessee, Stephanie D. Wagner of North Carolina and Angela D. Umfleet of Jacksonville; mother, Mrs. Henratta J. Huey of Park Hills, Missouri; two sisters, Nancy Hagw and Charlotte McGinnis both of St. Louis, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several other beloved family members and friends.

Visitation was Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the funeral home. 

Funeral service was  Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Conger officiating. 

Interment was followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

Mom's heart finnaly went to sleep after years of battling breathing problems due to her years of smoking.
